The small print, in plain words
Terms of service.
Last updated 30 September 2026.
These terms say what you can expect from Fablegrove and what we ask of you. We have tried to keep them short and plain. If anything is unclear, write to us at hi@fablegrove.ai.
1. Who we are
Fablegrove is made and run by DesignHub LLC, whose head office is in Nevada, USA. When these terms say “we” or “us”, they mean DesignHub LLC; “you” means the person whose account it is.
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use fablegrove.ai, the app at app.fablegrove.ai, and anything else we offer under the Fablegrove name. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why, and is part of this agreement. By making an account or choosing a plan, you agree to both. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Fablegrove.
2. Your account
You must be 18 or older to make an account. Fablegrove is made for parents, carers, teachers and other grown-ups who make stories for children.
Children don’t have accounts of their own. They enjoy Fablegrove through an adult: by listening to the stories you make, on your device, a speaker or a player. If you let a child use your account, you are responsible for what happens there.
If you use Fablegrove with a class or a school, make sure you are allowed to, and follow your school’s rules about sharing stories and children’s details.
You sign in with a code we email you, or with Google, so keep your email safe: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Use an address that is yours and that works, because it is where your codes and our important messages go. Tell us straight away at hi@fablegrove.ai if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Plans, billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds
You can start on Seedling, the free plan, with one-time story credit and no card. Family and Grove are paid plans, by the month or by the year. What each plan costs and includes is shown on our homepage and in the app before you pay.
Prices are in US dollars and don’t include tax. Checkout shows your final total, including any tax, and may offer payment in your local currency. Tax and any currency-conversion fee don’t come out of your story credit.
Payments go through Stripe Checkout. For purchases sold through Link using Stripe Managed Payments, Link is the merchant of record: it takes your payment, sends your receipts, answers questions about the transaction, handles refunds and collects any tax, under Link’s terms and refund policy. We provide Fablegrove itself, and support for your account and stories.
Renewal
A paid plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the rate you chose plus any tax, until you cancel. Each renewal is charged to the payment method you gave at checkout, which you can change in the billing portal.
If a renewal payment doesn’t go through, Sprig pauses making anything new until it does. Your stories stay where they are.
If we change the price of a plan, we will tell you before the new price applies to you, and it will start from a renewal after that notice, so you have time to cancel if you’d rather not pay it.
Cancelling
You can cancel any time in Settings → Plan & billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal and takes effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for; your plan and its story credit carry on until then. After that your account moves to the free plan. Everything you’ve made stays yours, and you can still open and replay your saved stories. Moving back to the free plan doesn’t bring a new round of free story credit.
Refunds
For purchases sold through Link, refund requests are handled by Link under its refund policy. For anything else you bought from us, write to hi@fablegrove.ai and we will look at your request fairly. Nothing in these terms takes away a refund or any other remedy the law where you live gives you.
If a payment is refunded or reversed, the story credit it brought is reduced or withdrawn to match.
4. Story credit
Everything Sprig makes for you — the writing, the reading aloud, the music and the sound effects — uses story credit. We show how much you have left as a percentage, in Settings.
- Seedling comes with story credit to try Fablegrove, once per account. It isn’t renewed.
- Each payment on a paid plan brings a fresh round of story credit for its period. A yearly plan’s credit is available upfront for the whole year.
- Unused credit expires at renewal. It doesn’t carry over to the next period.
- Story credit you and a friend receive when you send them a story follows the same rules: on a paid plan, it lasts until your next renewal.
- Replaying a saved story uses no story credit.
Story credit has no cash value. It can’t be sold, moved to another account or exchanged for money, and it isn’t refunded when it expires or when you cancel, apart from any refund Link’s refund policy or the law gives you.
To keep Fablegrove fair and running well for everyone, we may limit how much can be made in a day, even if you have credit left. If you reach a limit, the app says so and when you can carry on.
5. Your stories
What you write is yours, and so is what Sprig writes for you. As far as the law allows, the stories, characters and words in your library belong to you, the person whose account it is, and we claim no ownership of them. You may play and share your stories and their recordings for personal, family, school and classroom use. If you would like to use them in another way, such as selling them, ask us first.
You give us permission to store, copy, process and play your stories only as far as we need to run Fablegrove for you: to keep them in your library, to have Sprig write, read aloud and compose them with the help of the services listed in our privacy policy, to send them where you ask (to Yoto, or to a friend), and to keep them safe. That permission ends when you delete a story or close your account, except for a copy you have sent to a friend, which lasts until you take it back.
We don’t sell your stories, and we don’t use them to advertise.
You are responsible for what you put in. Don’t include anything you don’t have the right to use, such as someone else’s book or characters, and keep children’s details to what you are comfortable with us holding.
6. Using Fablegrove kindly
Fablegrove is a place for stories for children, so please don’t use it to:
- make anything that sexualizes, exploits or endangers children, or anything hateful, cruel or against the law;
- copy or pass off work that isn’t yours, or that you don’t have the right to use;
- get around story credit, daily limits or Sprig’s refusals, or make extra accounts to get more free story credit;
- break, overload, probe or copy Fablegrove in bulk, or reach accounts or information that aren’t yours;
- resell Fablegrove, or share your account beyond your own household or class.
Sprig may decline to write something it shouldn’t. We may remove a story, or pause or close an account, that breaks these rules (see section 11).
7. Sprig’s writing
Sprig writes, reads aloud and composes with the help of the services listed in our privacy policy. It is good at stories, but it isn’t perfect: it can get a fact wrong, misunderstand what you asked for, mispronounce a name, or write something that doesn’t suit your child.
Please read and listen to every story before you play it to children. You know your listeners best, and you decide what they hear. Check lessons, quizzes and explainers for accuracy before you use them.
Sprig’s stories are stories, not advice. When a story touches something important in a child’s life, such as their health, a loss or a big change, talk it over with someone qualified as well.
8. Yoto, Tonies and other services
Fablegrove can send a finished story to your Yoto library once you connect your Yoto account, and stories can also be played on other players, such as a Toniebox with a Creative-Tonie, using that maker’s own app. Yoto and Tonies are trademarks of their respective owners. Fablegrove is not affiliated with either brand, and their apps, players, cards and accounts are covered by their own terms and privacy policies, not ours.
Signing in with Google, paying through Stripe and Link, and connecting Yoto each involve that company’s own terms. If one of those services changes, or stops working with us, the parts of Fablegrove that rely on it may change or stop too.
9. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Fablegrove running, but we can’t promise it will always be available, quick or free of mistakes. Sometimes it will be down for maintenance, or because something outside our control has gone wrong.
Fablegrove is still growing, so we will add, change and sometimes remove features, voices, music and sounds. If we take away something that is an important part of a paid plan, we will tell you beforehand where we can. If we ever close Fablegrove, we will tell you in advance.
10. Limits on our responsibility
Fablegrove is provided as it is and as it is available. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond the ones in these terms: for example, that it will suit a particular purpose, that Sprig’s stories will be accurate, or that it will never be interrupted.
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable, for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost data, or for how the stories you make are used. Our total responsibility to you for anything to do with Fablegrove is limited to what you paid for Fablegrove in the twelve months before the thing that went wrong.
Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility the law doesn’t allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you also have rights under the law where you live (for example, the Australian Consumer Law, or consumer law in the UK or the EU), and nothing in these terms takes them away.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA. If you live somewhere else, you also keep the protection of the laws of the place where you live that can’t be set aside by agreement, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please write to us first: most things can be put right quickly.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using Fablegrove at any time. To close your account and delete your stories, cancel any paid plan and write to hi@fablegrove.ai from the address you sign in with. Closing an account deletes its stories and can’t be undone.
We may pause or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, puts children or anyone else at risk, or isn’t paid for, or when the law requires us to. Where it is fair and lawful, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put things right. If we close your account when you haven’t broken these terms, we will refund the unused part of any paid period.
The parts of these terms that are meant to last, such as sections 5 and 10, keep applying after an account ends.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Fablegrove or the law changes, and we will change the date at the top when we do. If a change matters to you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Fablegrove after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree with them, you can cancel your plan and close your account.
